I’m Zach Ballard, a transportation professional with more than 20 years of experience as both a professional driver and a transportation operations manager.

I have over 11 years experience behind the wheel with over 800,000 miles driven, accident and violation free. I have nine years of experience in transportation operations, including leading teams of more than 25 drivers, overseeing multimillion-dollar accounts all while maintaining on-time-performance above 99%.

This experience has given me a practical understanding of the pressures drivers face, the challenges trucking companies manage, and the ways decisions made in the office affect people on the road.

Today, my work is increasingly focused on the connection between driver wellness, transportation safety, and data. I believe driver health is not separate from safety or operational performance. It affects energy, decision-making, retention, quality of life, and ultimately the safety of everyone on the road.

I’m also developing my skills in data analytics and using real transportation data to explore safety issues, identify patterns, and communicate useful insights. My goal is not simply to analyze the trucking industry from the outside. It is to combine data with real-world experience to help make the industry safer, healthier, and stronger.
